Your skills are in serious demand and you have plenty of options. You could easily go to work for Microsoft, Google, Amazon, or any number of great big companies, all of which are doing interesting things. But, consider this for a minute: if you were to go to work there and write 50,000 lines of incredibly ground-breaking code, do you think it would make a hill of beans difference to those companies? Yes, you might get a promotion and a nice raise. You might even get to meet Nadela, Page, or Bezos. But, do you really think that code could move the needle? After a pat on the back and a nice bonus check, do you think the big boss will remember your name when you see him in the elevator next week? Will you even be allowed to ride in the same elevator next week? Will your incredibly awesome, industry-redefining code change the course of a company with thousands of employees?
In a small company, everything you do moves the needle. Every day you are making important and lasting contributions to the growth of your company. Everything is magnified. For us and our employee/partners, that is what is so much fun about working at Chatbox. We have customers that say “I couldn’t do my job without your software. You’ve made us 40% more efficient.” We pride ourselves in that accomplishment, and strive to improve their efficiency even more.
You could also go and “do your own thing” — be your own boss. Well, that is a great idea. Quite frankly, if you have a better idea than what we’re doing at Chatbox and you have the capability to pull a team and some money together, that is exactly what you should be doing. There has never been a better time to be an entrepreneur. There is nothing more challenging or rewarding than heading out on your own to solve a cool problem. If this is you, get off this page and start building your idea. We’ll hate to lose you, but the world will be a better place and you’ll be far happier.
If you don’t have that great idea, team, and money lined up, why not come and be an entrepreneur along side us? I want to be very clear: we are not looking for employees. We are looking for partners. We expect and demand that every single partner take an entrepreneurial role and responsibility within the company. This will be your start up, and you can be sure that you’ll be treated as such. Your experience, ideas, and creativity will have an outlet at Chatbox — that will be our engine of growth.
We’re really doing some interesting things here. We are the industry leaders in real-time structured data and messaging. Our scalable software is powering businesses of all sizes and types -- from apartment buildings and car dealerships to health care and financial services. If you are an engineer, you know that this is a really hard problem to solve and you’re excited to look under the hood and make great software on top of this awesome micro-services architecture. The B2C and B2E messaging space is incredibly hot — businesses of all types are looking for and craving for solutions that automate, drive efficiency, and create a “wow” customer experience. We believe that we’re in the right place at the right time.
Whether you are fresh out of school or a twenty year veteran, if we’re a good fit, give us a shout. We won’t string you along. You have our firm commitment that you’ll hear back from us within 48 hours of sending in a note. We have important work to do and if you’re a great fit, we will want to partner with you as soon as possible. Our hiring process from start to finish shouldn’t take much more than a week.
Our open positions are listed here, but please don’t hesitate to write if you have a talent outside of these listings.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
